Font - 11 Handbook... 290.2KB Good morning, We have made a change to PTO. "Sixteen (16) hours of your accrued annual PTO is available in the event you need to work from home. Instead of deducting a full 8 hours from PTO for the day missed, four (4) hour increments will be deducted from your earned PTO hours." page 13. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask me or your manager. If you don't have any questions/concerns, please print out the last page, sign and return to me or if you are

Font - Seattlekai 3 hr. ago Guess you get to enjoy a 4 hour workday now since you they are forcing you to use "paid time off" - I might suggest reaching out to your State Attorney General as this sounds fishy and they likely needed to give you all more notice of this change. Without seeing the policy its hard to gauge how much room you have to push back but being forced to use your earned time off is potentially illegal. Also, I love the spelling of "SepErate" - nice cherry on top of your s*(t s

Font - cleon42 3 hr. ago Nooooooooope. no. PTO is PTO. Paid Time Off. WFH - Working from home - is work. If they want to limit how much you can WFH, fine, but PTO is PTO.

Font - n0_use_for_a_name. 3 hr. ago Definitely illegal in California. PTO, once given, is essentially the equivalent of earned wage. This policy roughly approximates asking an employee to return some of the wages that they were previously paid, so that same money can be used to pay them again.

Font - gregsw2000 3 hr. ago Wage theft. Working from home is a worked day. They can't not pay you for a day you worked. Unless you're salaried, in which case, welcome to the scam. They can do whatever.

Font - LarryBonds30. 3 hr. ago I would sign it, follow the policy, use it and document all instances of them breaking the law. Then contact a lawyer and see. You can't use PTO and still be required to perform work related duties. Nowhere close to an exper though

Font - Affectionate-Safe761. 2 hr. ago If you're in the US, this is illegal. I would reply all. "The FSLA requires that employees are paid for all hours worked. Using PTO to work from home is illegal and I will not participate in illegal activity."

Font - Natural Cucumber2615 3 hr. ago So HR are literally morons. Why would you work from home and let them take 4 hours of your pto for the privilege. Just call out and use 8 hours to cover your day.

Font - Status_Pin4704. 2 hr. ago This is why companies get sued and get fines for labor force violations. Save email, send to your personal email account, and blow that whistle like a ref stopping play during a football game.
